Tricks and Tips: An all Levels Study of the Sequence of Forms in Glass Blowing

Workshop Description:

Sunday March 24, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

This course is great for all skill levels! Beginners will build foundation skills, while intermediate-advanced students will learn new approaches to incorporating basic forms into more complex pieces.

Students will begin with the cylinder (the simplest form), followed by cones and inverted cones, next to bottles, and last, the most difficult, bowls. Since this is a one day workshop students will work mainly in clear glass. Frit application while maintaining the integrity of the steps in clear will be covered. This class is a great opportunity to work in the studio with 2 amazing glass artists!

About Rainbow Glass Productions:

Jamie and Andrew first met in 2013 while both blowing glass in school at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, Tennessee. He knew how to blow glass and she was a freshman with no experience. Quickly they both noticed the other’s work ethic and teamed up! At first, Andrew had all of the technical skills and Jamie had all of the creative power.  They feed off of one another’s energy and passion for creating and grew together! Now they have become a great team and collaborate well with each other. Rainbow Glass Productions is a product of this collaboration.
