Sewing Lab will help your inner designer to emerge! Participants learn how to hand-sew, use the sewing machine and create art that involves stitching, weaving, and more. Learn how to alter clothes for better fit, mend, hem, and sew a seam. Learn how to add pockets to your favorite tee, change the neckline, or fuse two pieces together. This hands-on art class is a great outlet for creativity where students create projects of self-expression that become “weaved” into everyday life!
Bring your sewing machine, your project or just start learning the basics on our machine!
The class will be tailored to the student’s interests and goals.
The class meets on Mondays for 4 consecutive weeks. Each month is a new session. The instructor will be present 6-8 p.m. to offer guidance and instruction, 8-9 p.m. will be “open studio,” with materials supplied but without instruction.
No experience or machine necessary.
$30 Member/ $40 Non-Member one time drop-in is available. Email Create@firstcityart.org or call 850-429-1222 for more information.
