Teen Camps 2023

Teen camps run from 1pm – 4pm

Photography June 12-16

Students will become familiar with the history of photo and the evolution of the camera. We will create cyanotypes, polaroid transfers and creative dynamic photos! Students will learn about what makes a great photograph and practice with portrait lighting and backgrounds to create specific moods. We will also have fun with a photo scavenger hunt and some forced perspective photos! Please bring a camera if you have one, but a phone will also work.

Printmaking June 19-23

Students will explore the printmaking design process and experiment with different surfaces to print on. We will use various ways to create prints such as monotype printing using paint to create one of a kind prints, collograph prints using various supplies to create interesting textures, and practice our carving skills using linoleum. We will discuss Pop Art and look at how we can incorporate that style into our printmaking process.

Upcycled Books July 5-7

Campers will select a used book from Open Books on campus to transform into a multimedia art journal. Each day, we will explore different mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, weaving, paper making, collage and more.
