Location: FCAC and Long Hollow Park, across the street from First City Art Center

Event Details

ART-A-THON = a full 24-hours in duration. You’re invited to stay up all night with us! Join us for nonstop art-making and fun to be had for all ages, no matter what time you arrive. Demonstrations, Hands on Art-Making Experiences, Performances, all ages are welcome to participate and/or watch whatever you wish.

All activities and demos are free to participate, except where otherwise noted for Make Your Own Glass sessions, throwing on the potter’s wheel, and yoga classes.

NEW Sculptural Fountain will be unveiled and celebrated during the Art-a-Thon on Monday evening from 6-9 pm. The collaborative fountain sculpture is located at Long Hollow Park, created by FCAC artists Jonathan Kusnerek, Devon Murphy, and Ben Twingley.

Hands-on Activities: Community Mural Painting, Make-your-own-glass ornament sessions (first come, first served - only $20 instead of $30!), Try throwing on the potter’s wheel, free sidewalk chalk drawing area, free figure drawing session, yoga classes, morning sunrise meditation, walk the park’s labyrinth or play on the playground!

Things to Watch: Sculptural Fountain “unveiling” and dedication, Glass blowing and Wheel Throwing demos, Raku Firing at night, PechaKucha artist talks, Drag Fashion show at midnight!

Open Books is located on FCAC’s campus, and will be open for the full 24-hour event as well. Open Books is OFFERING FREE COFFEE and a book sale!

November 5th, Monday

9am - 3pm:
• Community Mural Painting with 2 local high schools
• Time Lapse Video of Mural Painting, Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Area

3pm - 5pm:
• Watch PSC’s Glass Blowing students at work
• Community Mural Painting - materials provided
• Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Area

• PechaKucha Artist Talks led by Felipe Munoz

6pm - 9pm:
• Fountain Unveiling Dedication Celebration!
• Food trucks, bar service by the Round Up. Art Gallery open,
• Live Music by the Mosley's,
• Free Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Area,
• Community Mural Painting – materials provided

6:15pm - 8:45pm:
• Throwing on the potter’s wheel – ($40. call to pre-register)

6:15pm - 7:30pm:
• Yin Yoga Class – ($10 drop in fee - cash/check)

7:45pm - 9:00pm:
• Restorative Yoga Class – ($10 drop in fee - cash/check)

6:15pm - 9:00pm:
• Figure Drawing Session – ($10 drop in fee - cash/check)

9pm - Midnight:
• Ceramic Raku Firing demos, Wheel Throwing demos
• Glass Blowing demos, bar service by the Round Up.
• Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Area
• A variety of Food Trucks and music by DJ3X
• Make Your Own Glass Ornaments (only $20, save $10!)

November 7th, Tuesday

Midnight - 3am:
• Drag Fashion Show, LipSync Performance, Bar service by Round Up
• Dance Party with DJ3X to follow
• 2 Late night Food Trucks on site until 3am!

3am - 6:30am:
• Watch Art21 Artist Documentaries
• Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Area

6:30am - 7:30am:
• Sunrise Meditation led by Felipe Munoz

7:45am - 8:45am:
• Yoga w/ URU Downtown owner, Angela Watts

8:45am - 9am:
• Closing Ceremony
